Amanda's Darner Collection
Amanda decided it was time to properly display her darner collection. She had a great idea of creating a shelf unit with holes in the shelves to display the darners. She laid them all out on a table, and marked some shelves to be drilled with custom holes for each darner. There are 9 holes per shelf, with each hole ranging in diameter from 3/4 of an inch to 1 1/2 inches, depending on the size of the darner handle.
The next challenge was to cut grooves in the vertical slats to hold the shelves together. I don't have a table saw, so I used a 9" circular saw. Here is the shelf unit with the first coat of paint on it drying out.
After some sanding and more painting, it was ready to be hung on the wall. Here is the final result. Click on the picture for a larger image.
